My purpose

I was explaining to a non veteran why I’m pushing the alternate options so hard at the VA. . So I’ll share. . Many veterans that seek medical attention at the VA are on VA service connected disability. Myself included.....and for some of them, that’s their ONLY income. There’s this underlining fear that if they DON’T follow the VA’s way of THEIR medical advice (aka prescriptions provided to them) then they will lose their benefits. Taking care of yourself is a MUST. That’s not a secret. There are some service connected disabilities/ conditions that are not curable. I’ll use myself as an example. PTSD being one of them and my current knee conditions- NOT CURABLE. . It’s finding ways to MAINTAIN/SUSTAIN while living with these conditions. Medication is obviously one of them. What I’m exposing is different OPTIONS to maintain current conditions. A healthier alternative way of living and existing. It’s more than just a gym. That’s why I broke down the different phases I personally went through. Cognitive therapy I did at the VA for 16 weeks included. It’s not just ONE phase. It was many different yes to be where I am today. . Getting better did not lose my benefits. It’s still overall service connected. It’s NOT curable. It’s ok to find alternative ways to maintain. . I’m personally anti-medication. However you also have to understand that I went through INTENSE therapy. DIGGGGGEED DEEP inside to find answers. Had to be EXTREMELY HONEST which meant giving up my prideful demon (that was painful), and did a lot of natural things to get there. . That’s the message for Iron Therapy 2.0 . That’s all.
