Carrying extra weight

No extra weight please.jpg

Carrying extra weight is not normal.
.

.
The commitment I made to bring awareness of carrying 22lbs for 22 days for veterans carrying the burden of PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
.
.
Let me be honest and raw right now. Each day I DREAD to carry that extra weight. Why? Because I carried it for so many years and I don’t want to any more. Sounds doushebag-ish right? Keep reading.
.
.
I’m beginning to see on social media a trend of normalizing mental health IN carrying this extra weight of depression, anxiety, and PTSD. That it’s ok to stay there. No. I won’t help normalize it. We have our days BUT you DO NOT have to stay there.
.
.
What’s my purpose in life? To normalize healing and that it’s possible no matter what that piece of paper says. YOU DON’T HAVE TO CARRY THE WEIGHT!
.
.
What I do on a day to day basis is MY medication. When people LOVEEEE to tell me it don’t take all that, how do you know what it takes when your advice ONLY are words (barely action) on YOUR good days.
.

.
I will continue to bring awareness and I will continue to tell you that you DO NOT have to stay there and I’m a LIVING TESTIMONY to that.
